Kane Brown has had an interesting start to his career up to this point. He was able to make some big time moves on the iTunes charts as an independent artist. Now he’s teamed up with a major label and he’s look for that first big hit at radio.
Every song he puts out is still big on the digital charts. Fans are buying his music, but I think he’s still waiting on that radio hit. This is a new one that just came out digitally. I’m not sure if it’s the next radio single, but it sounds like it could be.
Thunder In The Rain – Kane Brown
This one is really catchy. I think that’s a good thing for Kane although the songs he’s put out in the past have been catchy as well. This one, though, seems to have more layers and kind of leaks a little more into the pop side of things. And I’m fine with popular in country. That just means that people, a lot of people, like it.
I heard or read in an interview with Kane once that he sees himself as a mashup of Chris Young and Sam Hunt. That’s a pretty good mix and you can hear those elements coming across. Kane has that really deep, traditional sounding country voice, but you can tell that he likes his songs to have really catchy and interesting melodies. That’s where the Sam Hunt influence comes in.
This one is a straight ahead love song with a really catchy chorus. I think people are going to like it.
