Who better to sing about love, guns, horses and bullets than Toby Keith?
Toby is a modern day outlaw as well as one of the greatest country story tellers of all time. Toby recently gave a rousing performance of his new single and title track from his latest album Bullets In The Gun [Deluxe Edition]for CMT Invitation Only. Complete with a horn section and plenty of attitude Toby belted out the story of love, theft, and a modern day Bonnie and Clyde story.
I really can’t picture anyone else besides Toby singing this song about a biker that meets a dancer in a bar as the two get caught up in a robbery and then heading for Mexico. It’s a modern day version of Marty Robbins’ El Paso. The song ends in a blaze of glory kind of like the ending to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
This song is great and the live performance is even better. The single has only been out to radio for a short time but it’s already in the top forty and seems destined to reach the top spot on the charts.
What do you think of the new song?
Is it another multi-week number one?
