Since launching his own record label in 2006, Toby Keith has been releasing a new studio album each year. Those albums have yielded about three hit singles each including A Little Too Late, Love Me If You Can, God Love Her, American Ride, and a few others.
This summer Toby is launching the first single from this year’s album, which appears to serve as the title track to the new album due out in the fall.
Trailerhood sees Toby telling a story to fans through the eyes of a regular guy living in his trailer. The narrator describes the things he sees in his neighbor…I mean trailerhood. There is the usual neighbor with pink flamingos, shirtless beer drinking dudes, country music in the air, and poker games. As Toby sings, “there’s always something going on in Trailerhood“.
It’s a simple song – the kind Toby has become known for over his nearly 20 year career. Toby’s singles have always been a mixed bag, but he hits more than he misses and that has lead him to one of the longest and most successful careers in country music. No reason to change the formula at this point.
Trailerhood seems to be getting good response from fans. There is a little cliche to the lyrics, but with a fun melody and catchy delivery, fans seem to be loving them some Toby Keith. The song will likely hit the top five later this summer just as the album is preparing to hit the stores.
