A new single emerged recently from the big teddy bear. He’s back at radio with a new song about parenting and spending time with your kids. This one is sure to tug at your emotions and make you smile.
Just Fishin’ sees Trace playing the roll of a dad. He’s taken his daughter out for a day of fishing. The little girl is out there playing and thinking about her shoes and other things going on. Trace is thinking about how special this time is. He knows she’ll probably later look back and remember this time with her dad. She doesn’t realize it now and that’s ok.
For me, Just Fishin’ reminds me of the stories my dad would tell me about our fishing trips. When I was older he told me about the first time he took me fishing in his boat. He said I was only about one or two. He was worried about me getting bored so he brought along a few Matchbox cars. We were out in the middle of the lake and he noticed I was sitting there looking over the boat into the water. He also noticed my cars had disappeared.

I don’t remember those times, but I do remember plenty of fishing trips, hunting trips and plenty of time in the yard playing catch with the football. That time is important even if the kids don’t realize it at the time.
Now you see what Trace went and did…he’s got me all sentimental about the time I spent Just Fishin’ with my folks.
