Saturday in the South by Tracy Lawrence
I’m not sure how I missed this one.
A couple months ago Tracy Lawrence released a new song.
Saturday in the South is a party anthem with Tracy at full throttle. If you know Tracy you know he’s had few good Saturdays down in the South himself. Crank up the volume and check this one out…
Saturday In The South – Tracy Lawrence
There is nothing in country quite like that little twang in Tracy Lawrence’s voice. I’m not sure why he’s struggled over the last few years to have hits. He’s been putting out some great music. It seems like he’s always had an ear for what country fans are looking for.
The same is true with Saturday in the South. The song is loaded with killer images of what it’s like to throw down on a Saturday night. You can get together with the buddies, have a few drinks and really enjoy the night. That’s what it’s about when you’re living for the moment and enjoying life.
The song only lasts just a little more than two minutes, but I like these kinds of songs. The tempo is fast. The music is loud and it gets you energized about hitting the town. I think Tracy did well with this track and I wish it had gotten more attention in the country world.
The story with Tracy has been an interesting one over the last few years. After a great run with Atlantic he changed labels a couple times. He still found some strong hits and had some good album sales.
After a few messes with new labels Tracy finally started his own and became the first country artist to have a number one hit with his own label. From there things seemed to be looking up for Tracy, but he’s kind of disappeared from the mainstream.
I’ve tried to keep track of what Tracy is up to just because I love his voice. He’s oen of the greatest country singers out there and he still seems like he has much to offer the country world.
I’m glad to have found Saturday in the South. It’s a great country song with plenty of rock mixed in to keeps things interesting.
What are your thoughts?
Should Tracy push again to have a top hit on the charts in 2012?
