Eli Young Band

Here is something a little different from the Eli Young Band.

Country is getting crazy with all these sounds lately. This one sounds like something that could have come out of the ’70s or ’80s. The very first few seconds remind me of the opening for the Rocky movies or something.

But then it kicks in with something that’s more like R&B with a little country mixed in. Country acts are going with all their influences these days. They’re not afraid to try new things and that can work out well.

Turn It On – Eli Young Band

The Eli Young Band has been one of the surprising acts the last few years. They’ve been putting out some pretty big hits, but I was surprised how fast they moved on from their last record. There were a couple more songs on that record that could have been hits especially the title track.

But this song is good. I can see why they would want to get this one out as soon as they could. It sounds like a top 15 song to me, but I could be wrong. It could get higher up on the charts. That wouldn’t surprise me.

The lyrics are pretty straightforward as far as love songs go. It’s not a ballad, but more about the jubilation you feel when you’re in love with someone and all you want to do is dance around and enjoy the here and now.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this one. Will it be a big hit for the band? They’ve had a few number ones already. Maybe you think this one will get them back to the top of the charts.

Chart Estimate: #15

CML Points: 85/100

Fantastic song that they have produced. It brings back memories of when I was in school. It’s going to be a top 10 song and a #1 for them. got to check the rest of their new album.
If its as strong of a song hope the album will be a real killer and become platinum. That song should be in the # slot on the album. It rocks. Great job guys.
