Uncle Kracker has successful reinvented himself as a country star.
Back in 2001 Uncle Kracker kicked off his solo career with the pop hit Follow Me. The former member of Kid Rock’s touring band had found success as a pop star. A handful of singles followed and Uncle Kracker seemed content with his place in music.
In 2004, Uncle Kracker made an unlikely trip to the top of the country charts. It helped that Kracker teamed up with country’s biggest artist at the time Kenny Chesney. The song was When The Sun Goes Downand it kind of introduced Kracker to most country fans.
Five years later Kracker was back on the charts with a solo hit. Smile climbed all the way into the country top ten during the summer of 2009 and Kracker became a legitimate country artist. Fans were digging the easy going track and continued requesting it as the feel good song of the summer.
Now Kracker is right back with another country single to prove that he’s not a one hit country wonder.
The song is catchy and fun. It’s great to listen to while driving down an empty country road. Tap on the wheel and tap your foot on the gas pedal as Kracker and Kid sing a little tune about brushing everything off your shoulder and having a good time.
The kings of laid back country cool are forging their own niche in the genre. Over the past few years now these guys have found a way into the hearts of a large country fanbase.
I think the new song is a great tune from Kracker.
What do you think?
Is the song country and do you like it?
