Uncle Kracker is back with new music.
For the last few years Kracker has been putting out some country-fied songs. Now he’s back with another single aimed for the pop-rock and country audiences. Listen to My Hometown by Uncle Kracker and give it your own rating.
My Hometown – Uncle Kracker
It looks like Uncle Kracker has a new record due out in 2012. The first single from the collection will be My Hometown. The song is Kracker’s ode to all the hometowns around the US. People everywhere feel close to their hometown. Folks are out there working hard each day to make a life for themselves. We’re all in the same boat and we’re all in it together.
It’s a good song, plain and simple. My Hometown feels a little southern rock, a little country, and a whole lot of Americana. Kracker has been pretty good at mixing his styles of music and coming out with songs that are fresh and interesting. Like his buddy Kid Rock, Kracker knows what the people want. He knows who his audience is and he gives them the music they want.
The laid back groove of My Hometown is probably the best feature. It’s a song you can kick back in the car and listen to all the way to work in the morning. As you drive past all the fields and the buildings on your way to work this song will make you think about your life in your hometown. You’ll be driving pass the football fields and remember playing a few downs there years ago. You’ll be driving past the local baseball fields and remember watching your kids play tee ball there just the other evening.
Everybody has memories from their hometown and we’re all still making memories happen. My Hometown is a great song for reflection, reflection on what it means to be proud of America and all of the folks out there working hard and raising families. It’s a great country song and a great song in general.
Uncle Kracker has found a formula since his last record came out in 2009. Since that time, Kracker has been able to find this kind of laid back song groove that the country audience really likes. He had a top ten country hit just a year or so ago. He followed that up with another top 30 hit.
Country folks are open to newcomers in their genre of music. They let the rockers and the rappers and everybody in between join the party. It’s all about making great music and I think country is really open to seeing what everybody can bring to the table. I think it’s great and it’s good to have good music from Uncle Kracker on the charts and on the video channels. The more we have the better things will be.
I think Uncle Kracker has done it one more time and by the time the new year rolls around I think he’ll have another top 20 country hit on his hands.
