How has this song not been written already?

Is it possible that Miranda Lambert could get better?

Her music has been some of the best for the past decade. And it sounds like she’s going to take things to a new level in the next decade.

Her personal life has been the talk for the last year or so. Most country fans know about her breakup with fellow country artist Blake Shelton. We don’t need to get into that too much.

But it seems like Miranda is really digging into her emotions on her new record. The first single, Vice, seemed to have some very real things in the lyrics. The song was great.

Here’s a new song, possibly the next single, and it’s another good one.

We Should Be Friends – Miranda Lambert

How has this song not been written before?

I feel like anytime you think that thought you’re really on to a great song. Great songwriters seem to be able to find life themes that haven’t been written or sung about. This is something that millions of people have thought, but that really hasn’t been put to music.

Miranda has done it. It looks like this was a new solo write from her.

The song is about someone kind of looking at how they’ve lived their life. They do certain things that others might not approve of, but the narrator also realizes that there are others out there that live the way she does and it’s obvious that in that case that they should be friends.

Miranda is already a superstar, but I think she’s going to gain some new friends with the release of this one.

Chart Estimate: #5

CML Points: 92/100
