The definition of a breakout album could have the image of Randy Houser’s How Country Feels album. That thing kind of came out of nowhere a couple years ago. The title track stormed up the charts and so did the following singles.
So Randy is kind of on a roll right now, but it’s always a challenge to follow it up. Here is the first single from his upcoming record.
We Went – Randy Houser
Here’s the thing I like about Randy. He really has found his sound in country. It’s a little different than what others are doing. Sure, others are doing the rocking thing with heavy sounding guitars and things like that, but Randy brings a little traditional country to it with his vocals.
When Randy sings you can hear the influences of his country roots. I’m not sure exactly who his influences are, but I hear some of the guys from the ’70s in there along with a few from the ’90s.
Randy also knows how to find a catchy song that makes for a perfect driving around song or a song that will really get you pumped up and singing along.
This one is about a night out with someone you love while you’re just cruising and having some fun. It’s similar to the two first singles off the last record, but I think it works well.
I’m sure it’ll be another smash hit and that’s good to see. Country is in a good place when Randy is having hits.
