Rachel Timberlake

Now here is a country song from Rachel Timberlake.

Wow. I hope you’re ready for some old school country music.

I haven’t heard of Rachel Timberlake before I don’t think and I’m kind of kicking myself for that. After listening to this song just one time I knew it was my kind of country. You might have to be in the right mood for it, but I think it’s classic country to the core. Check it out.

Whiskey Bent Wings – Rachel Timberlake

It’s a little risky to sing the lyric whiskey bent in country if you’re name is not Hank, but Rachel took on the challenge and really pulled it off well. You can feel the emotion from the lyrics in her vocals. You feel like she’s felt this way probably more than just a few times.

And I think we’ve all felt this way. The narrator has lost someone. I’m not sure if it was a lover or if it was a family member or someone special.

Whatever is going on there is a big loss that occurred and the only way the person has found to numb that bad feeling is to drink whiskey. When they do that they are able to lose the sad feeling and almost feel like they’re with that person again. From the video it looks like a daughter and mother that have been estranged.

You’ll have to let me know your interpretation of the song. I’m going to listen again a few more times to see what I can come up with. I love the mix of modern electric guitar with a little violin. Just wonderful and you don’t get this kind of music in country much anymore today. I miss it.
