Life is funny sometimes.
Just the other day I heard Rascal Flatts and their latest hit on radio.
It got me thinking back to really big days in the mid 2000s. They were having all kinds of huge hits and many were written by Jeffrey Steele.
Steele had written a bunch of hits songs in that era for all kinds of artists.
He also had a ’90s band of his own, Boy Howdy, and they had a few big hits.
Then this week I found out that Jeffrey has a new album out. It looks like he’s got a new band called Sons Of Palomino. And they have a new single or maybe just a little teaser song out and it’s a duet with Jamey Johnson.
Whiskey Years – Sons Of Palomino
Now this is pretty cool.
This is some old school country. Something you would expect Patsy Cline to sing in the 1960s.
Jamey definitely sounds like he could have been a singer in that era. I just came across an interview he did about his little hiatus. I’m curious to see what’s been going on with him.
I believe the lyrics are about a guy looking back on the troubles he’s had. Addiction. Things like that. I think he’s thinking about a girl. Maybe one that had to leave him because he was going through struggles.
The thing is the guy isn’t sure that he’s all the way through those struggles yet. That’s kind of the sad part.
