Leann Rimes is known today maybe more for her publicly lived personal life. It’s probably not fair in some ways, but that’s the way things are today.
To me, Leann will always be one of the best country singers of all time. She has been since she was just a kid. It’s been nearly 20 years now since she arrived on the mainstream country scene. She’s been a true gift to country fans. I love when she kind of strips things back and the focus sits solely on her voice. It’s a voice like nothing else out there.
I read George Jones’ autobiography that came out in 1998 recently and he didn’t mention that many artists. I think he mentioned Alan Jackson and he went out of his way to mention Leann Rimes as someone he admires. Here is a video of a live performance Leann did last summer. It’s a great song and showcases how great leann is. Check it out.
Who We Really Are – Leann Rimes
Just a guitar and Leann. It doesn’t really get any better. I’ve only had the chance to listen to a few of the songs on this record, but from all the ones I’ve heard it’s been nothing, but good. There is some real passion in these songs including this one.
From what I can gather this song is about the struggles that people go through during their love in life. It’s not always easy. It seems like the world always throws you curve balls especially when you’re pushing yourself to reach new heights. But that’s what love is really about. It’s not about the easy times. Anybody can handle those.
Love is about the difficult times and being able to love each other through it all and coming out on the other side stronger than ever.
Leann has been through a lot in her career and she sounds as good as ever.
