Toby Keith’s record label has a been a huge success on some fronts and a slight disappointment on others.
One one hand, Toby’s records have continued to sell just as well as during his heyday. Nobody is selling albums like the late ’90s and early ’00s, but Toby continues to have hits and that’s commendable for a guy on his own label.
But the one thing Toby has pointed out as a frustration item is not being able to break any new artists on the label.
Well one new artist on Showdog is Joel Crouse. The kid with his own country style has had a couple singles hovering around the top 20 and top 30 on the charts, but he’s looking for a breakthrough hit.
This new one has some promise.
Why God Made Love Songs – Joel Crouse
From the first note you get the sound that makes Joel unique. He’s not your average country singer with a hat and a Southern drawl. He’s also not your typical artist with pop sheen.
This is a unique sound that has hints of young love and youthful excitement. This energy has come through on Joel’s previous songs and it sounds like people are starting to take notice.
This song is making people feel good. That’s a good sign for Joel and Showdog. I’m sure the folks are working hard to get this one played and I think radio stations are starting to buy in to the buzz.
This one could be a big hit.
