Just Breathe by Willie Nelson

Just Breathe

Just Breathe from Willie and Son Lucas

It’s pretty cool to see Willie still playing classic country music. He’s finding an audience for his music some 40 years after he originally came to be one of the biggest stars in the world. His new song and video are great and I hope they do well on the charts.

Just Breathe – Willie Nelson

Just Breathe is a catchy song. It’s awesome to see Willie out there playing great country music. It seems like it’s easy for the older artists to get a little off with their later music, but some of the greatest like Willie, Cash, and Jones have found ways in the past to stay relevant in their later years.

Willie sure doesn’t seem like he’s slowing down at all. You may have seen him up on the stage for the CMT Awards and he was alive and powerful up on the stage. At this point in his life I’m sure he knows he doesn’t have that much time left, but he’s going all out before he goes. I can really respect that and I hope Willie keeps playing for another twenty years. At this rate that might be underestimating quite a bit.

You’ll recognize the song if you are a fan of the mega band Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder wrote the song and he seems to really appreciate the cover Willie put on this song. It’s cool to see the stars of two eras and genres coming together to respect each other and work together in this way. I don’t think that’s Eddie in the video, but it’s a great track. I believe it’s Willie’s son Lucas. You can kind of hear the similarities. It’s really cool.

What do you think of Willie back on the top of minds in country music? I think it’s great and I hope Willie continues climbing with this new record. It has some great covers from old Willie.
