This song was brought to my attention recently. I get a few emails every week about new music and I do like to check most of them out and I try to share my favorites here on the blog.
I like all kinds of country music, but I do have a little soft spot in my heart for traditional-sounding country. This is one that stood out recently and I thought I would share.
Wrapped In A Frame – Jared Hicks
This is my first introduction to Jared and his music. I might have to check more to see what he’s been up to because I like this song. From the first note the song has the feel of a traditional country song. It had a gritty vocal with kind of an old school groove and sound.
The song, I think, is about how photos can kind of capture how things appear from the outside. Usually people are smiling and having a good time, but sometimes photos can bring about bad memories for those that are in the pictures.
Like a picture of two smiling people that may have broken up the next day. Or the time when you were on vacation with the family when things kind of broke up just a few weeks or months later.
We all have pictures like that in our lives. It’s just kind of a reality and that seems to be what the song is about. It’s not going in depth into the subject, but just kind of discussing it.
What do you think of this one?
