I heard this one on Wild Country and from the first note I knew that I had heard the song before. The new version is Frankie Ballard and he does a great job.
It’s always kind of cool when country artists do covers. The covers can be from a broad spectrum. Sometimes they’ll cover a song that wasn’t a major hit from another artist and they’ll turn it into a hit. Other times they’ll cover a pop song or a rock song.

You’ll Accomp’ny Me – Frankie Ballard
This is a Bob Seger song. It was a big hit in 1980 from his huge album, Against The Wind. That must have been a cool time in the world, but I guess we live in a cool time right now.
I remember hearing this song all the time on classic rock stations in the ’90s and ’00s. It’s one of those songs that can span generations and even hearing it now you’ll get young kids that really like it and maybe they’ll discover Bob Seger and all the great music he made during his big run.
I don’t think I’ve ever taken time to think about the lyrics before. It seems that it’s about a guy that has a feeling that he and this girl will end up together. She’s kind of on the fence right now. She’s thinking that it’s best for her to leave, but the guy has this inkling that they’ll end up together when it’s all said and done. He’s willing to risk it all and try it out.
Great song and a great cover by Frankie Ballard. I don’t think this one will be a single, but I thought it was worth checking out anyway.
