Could be the surprise #1 song of 2018.
This song popped up at #59 on the Billboard Radio Charts this week. That’s usually not the first place where I discover new country songs these days. Usually it’s on Spotify and things like that, but radio is still big time and some artists do breakout just on the radio charts first.
Anyway, I’m pretty excited about this one for a few reasons. I’m pulling for women to kind of get back into the top ten on the radio charts. Ashley McBryde is the artist on this one. I also immediately thought the title of this song sounded really interesting. It’s not one you would immediately think would fit with popular country music today, but it really does.
And this one is a bit old school. I love it.
A Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega – Ashley McBryde
I’m loving this one so much. The more I listen the more I love it. The song has a little bit of a sad look on the things going on in life, but ultimately it brings thing back around and makes you appreciate the little things. Even the breakups in life. The little dive bars around the country where you can find kinship with friends and family.
I just love that right now we have a little throwback to traditional country. This one definitely fits that vein.
It looks like Ashley is with Warner Nashville. That’s pretty big time. And probably why this one first popped up on the radio charts.
Like most people I’m going to go google Dahlonega right now…
Chart Estimate: #1
CML Points: 89/100
My kind of music. Great voice and song.
#1 chart estimate?? I think this is a great song and I really hope you’re right, but in our current country music climate, I think the chances of a hard to pronounce lead single from a not-conventionally attractive , slightly older than the average female country singer has a future of spending a handful of weeks clawing its way up to the middle 50s somewhere before dropping off the charts ahead of it.. I’m really hoping she finds success, but it’s going to be an uphill battle..
