One of the difficult things for established country artists is figuring out a way to stay relevant as the times change. Alan Jackson has been a huge star for 25 years now. He’s used his brand of traditional country music to connect with fans. He’s stayed relevant through a few different changes in country along the way.
But Alan has struggled on the charts the last couple years at least in terms of radio. His style really isn’t played much anymore by modern DJs. But Alan has found a really unique way to stay relevant. He’s covered the title song for the new Seth MacFarlane movie. It’s going to be a hit movie and the great thing is that Alan was able to sing the song in traditional country style. Check it out.
A Million Ways To Die – Alan Jackson
A few fans out there will recognize the name Seth MacFarlane for Family Guy and Ted. The show and movie have been huge hits. Seth also hosted the Oscars this past year and got some strong reviews from a few fans.
One thing that’s been a showcase in his work is music. He knows his way around a melody and he’s done it again with this song. It’s catchy and Alan Jackson was the perfect choice for the singer.
The song and the movie seem to be about all the ways you could die in the old west. Even a small cut could kill you back then. It’s something we take for granted now. I’m not sure all that goes with the movie. It came out earlier this weekend.
Now that AJ is attached I’ll probably have to check it out.
