JT Hodges has been kicking around Nashville for awhile now. It’s been about five years or so since he released some singles and an album for Toby Keith’s record label.
I thought for sure that Toby’s team would be able to break JT into the mainstream, but sometimes things just don’t work out.
JT had some really solid songs back then. But things didn’t work out and JT has still be out there releasing new music including this new song off a new EP.
After Midnight – JT Hodges
The hook on this one is that the old saying is that nothing good happens after midnight. And my mom always continued with the saying and told me that nothing legal happens after 2am.
Anyway, the guy in this song is looking at good things that do happen after midnight. In this case it’s a guy and a girl that are in the early stages of falling in love. At least that’s kind of how I’m looking at it. But maybe it’s about all people that are kind of living for the night. They find love. They find friendships. They find themselves.
Some of us prefer living during the day, but others prefer the night. We all seem to look for silence in the world where it seems like we’re the only ones awake. For some that’s early in the morning and for others it’s really late at night.
Really cool song topic with some cool sounds and a good melody. I like it. What are you thinking about this one?
