This one sounds like a smash hit.
Kenny Chesney’s last single made it into the top ten on the radio charts. I was a big fan of that one. I thought it had a chance to crack that number one slot. It was also a co-write by David Lee Murphy. He’s had a couple big hits with Kenny.
I’m curious whatever happened to the project they were working on together.
Anyway, that single stalled out and it’s time to move on with the next one. It sounds like a great tune as we head into summer.
All The Pretty Girls – Kenny Chesney
Kenny likes to look backwards at little important moments in life. He’s kind of perfect this approach with his music. Times in high school. Times in college. Times being a young adult.
And he’s of course looked at being older and all the things in life. But he’s kind of in his element when he’s looking at all the important things for young adults.
That’s kind of the pocket where this song falls. It’s about being young and kind of living life as the pretty girls see it. I don’t know if it’s right or wrong, but young guys often fall into doing whatever the pretty girls say. And the pretty girls kind of know the power they have.
Anyway, this song has a great melody. By this time in his career Kenny shows that he knows how to find those really good melodies. They’re catchy. They’re modern. They’re still country and it all works really well.
He’s still at the top of his game.
Chart Estimate: #3
