The sixth single from his last album.
Later this year we can probably expect a new album from Thomas Rhett. That would be about two years since Tangled Up came out and kind of took Thomas to a new level of stardom in country music.
But before we get to a new album there will be at least one more single from Tangled. This is officially the sixth single from that album. That’s quite a bit, but artists run into that “issue” sometimes when they have a really big album.
And I guess this one is technically from the deluxe version of the record.
American Spirit – Thomas Rhett
Thomas is nicely filling out his collection of hits. He’s had uptempo party songs. He’s had those ballad love songs. And he has some quirky stuff in there too that kind of shows a certain side of him.
This one is a little different even still. It’s very reflective. It’s about life and not really about the love of a woman or anything like that. It’s reflective on the life that Thomas and others have lived. It’s a look at American life.
The song doesn’t necessarily call out small town life specifically, but that’s what many of the images in the song are. They’re looking at raising families. It’s about driving in a truck on the backroads and appreciating the views out the window. Sunrises and sunsets. Taking it slow and appreciated the day to day of life instead of always looking ahead and behind.
Something a little different and it should be another solid hit.
