This is a pretty country song from Jason Aldean.
There’s a lot of talk these days about Jason Aldean not really representing the traditions of country music. I get it. You have the rapping. You have the heavy rock guitars. You have the brashness.
But once in awhile, without you even realizing it, Jason Aldean will throw a really country song out there for the purists. I think Jason has done that with this next release. It’s still got the style that he’s become known for, but there is something to really like in this song for the purists.

This song is about a tough breakup. We have a guy that’s kind of at the bar and looking for ways to numb the pain. It sounds like he’s in a little bit of denial about it. He’s looking like he’s having a party and having fun now that he’s sleeping in the king sized bed all alone.
But if you really listen to things you can tell that he’s not really over the girl. Part of him may enjoy the freedom. Part of him may know that it wasn’t right, but he still feels those feelings of love. He still misses her in his life. For whatever reason it didn’t work out though and things are moving forward on this new path.
This song is a good one. Jason has been a roll with this new record. The first two singles went to number one and I think this one will as well. It’s a good song and Jason has shown that he knows how to pick those.
