Anything Goes by Florida Georgia Line (@FLAGALine)

Florida Georgia Line just keeps things on rolling with the fourth single off their second record. It’s been nothing but top hits for the duo since they burst on the scene just a couple years ago.

You could say that in that short time they’ve become the biggest act in country music. They’re at least one of the biggest acts in country.

I’m sticking with my comparison to Brooks & Dunn from the ’90s. Yes, the obvious comparison is that they’re both duos, but I think the more apt comparisons are the energy the two acts brought. It was really special back with B&D and it’s different and special with FGL now.

Let’s check out their new one.

Anything Goes – Florida Georgia Line

Catchy? Check.

Makes you want to dance and have a good time? Check.

Those are two pretty good things to have in a song. These guys have perfected the fun time weekend song in country music, but I think they’re teetering on the edge of taking it a bit too far with these types of songs.

This is a good song on its own, but it feels again like it’s one we’ve heard from the guys before. They’re just on the edge for me. I don’t think they’ve taken it too far just yet, but I’ll be curious to see how this one does. I think it will do well, but after this I think the guys will have to change it up a bit.

And that’s always a challenge because when things are going well it’s hard to change what’s working.

I thought the guys did it really well with Dirt. That song was different, but still catchy and really good. It had heart and people loved it.

Songs like this are great once in a while, but it seems the best artists and the ones that become superstars and stay there for a while are able to change just enough to keep things fresh and interesting.

I bet these guys can do it.
