Gretchen Wilson

These two are great on this traditional country song.

This one isn’t a new single or anything like that. But sometimes you just need some old school country and blues. And I’ve been missing some Gretchen Wilson and Kid Rock. And they have a duet on Gretchen’s latest album. So I thought we could check it out.

Gretchen has been out doing the independent thing for the last several years. And things have been quiet on the Kid Rock front as far as new music for about two years.

But they both sound good on this one.

Bad Feeling – Gretchen Wilson & Kid Rock

Isn’t that pretty good? A little rock. A little blues. And a whole lot of country. I could easily see this thing fitting right in at just about any point in country history. There’s definitely a little Hank Jr. in there. I love it.

The lyrics are about two people that kind of feeling love slipping away. The bad feeling they’re each having is that the other person is probably going to be leaving. Maybe they’ve had enough. Maybe they’ve just fallen out of love. And the other person is just getting a bad vibe over the whole thing.

Listening to this one shows the versatility that each of these artists have. Kid Rock has been able to transition very easily between genres. And Gretchen definitely brought some rock and roll into the country world.

I’m curious if they’ve ever toured together. I know Kid has been doing his $20 concerts the last few years. I wonder if he’d ever bring Gretchen out with him. I know the fans would love her music.

CML Points: 89/100
