Billy Gilman was the runner up this season on The Voice. I wasn’t really able to watch much, but I was keeping tabs on how Billy was doing. It was pretty cool that he decided to audition and he definitely showed that he had the talent to win the thing.
And in many he was the winner of the show. I’m sure others including winner Sundance Head have a shot at success after the show, but it seems like Billy really has a shot. He’s looking for success in the pop world and he seems to have the attitude that he needs to find hit songs in order to have a second act in his career.
Here is the last song he sang on The Voice that I think is the first original for his new career.
Because Of Me – Billy Gilman
I think the story is that this song was supposed to be recorded by Maroon 5 whose lead singer Adam Levine was also the coach for Billy on The Voice. It’s a really good song.
It seems to be about a guy that’s looking at someone he really cares about and how he wants to be the most important person and thing in that other person’s life.
I think any of us that have been in love or in the early stages of life have felt this way. You see yourself falling for the other person and you are a little vulnerable because you don’t know if the other person feels the same.
I hope this one is a hit for Billy. He deserves success in the pop world. He has the experience. He definitely has the singing prowess.
I like this one.
