Bench Seat Revival by Drew Moreland

I love when Texas country singers put out new music.

There is just something about that traditional sound that I love.

And there actually seems to be another revival of it coming into the mainstream. I’m excited about Midland and William Michael Morgan.

Here is an artist that I believe is from Texas. Drew Moreland has a new EP out and we’ll check out the title track.

Bench Seat Revival – Drew Moreland

This is one of those songs that will bring back some memories for a lot of folks. I know it does for me.

A few trucks these days still have bench seats. But if you remember back a ways you remember those old bench seats. And those old bench seat covers. They were in just about every pickup truck all the way into the mid ’90s.

Anyway, this song is about a guy remembering his past. He would go out for pickup truck rides with his dad. He looks back on those times with happiness. Almost like a church. They would ride along. He would learn so much.

And looking back he would change a few things. He would talk a little less and listen a little more. To his dad, but also to all the things going on around him.

This is a good one. It has a great melody. Drew has a great sound. It’s definitely country.

It looks like he’s doing the independent thing right now, but you never know when the breakthrough could come. I’ll be pulling for this one to find an audience.
