Coming off the success of his third album Little Bit of Everything
, Billy Currington is back with a new single.
Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer is a fun tune with a laid back groovy melody that is starting to define Billy Currington. The song covers the same topic as Joe Nichols‘ It Ain’t No Crime. Currington claims that he’s not good at most of the normal things guys are known for: fixing cars, mowing grass, working hard and fast, and cleaning windows. The theme is the anthem for taking relaxation seriously. It’s timely given that summer is just kicking off. The season is about taking a few afternoons off and sitting back and just chilling with friends.
As Billy Currington releases Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer his career is starting get on a serious roll. Currington’s first album kicked his career off with two hit singles. His second album followed and went platinum on the success of two number one hits. His third album had two number ones and a number two. Currington is selling records and selling concert tickets. Billy Currington’s fourth album will follow the release of Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer later this year.
The new song is already in the top 40 on the country charts and appears to be well on it’s way to the top five. It’s another hit for one of country’s best artists. Currington is now a successful hit-maker. Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer follows I Got A Feelin’, Good Directions, and People Are Crazy as Currington defines himself as a laid back version of Kenny Chesney. Currington has a little bit of Buffett in him along with some Strait. It’s not a bad combo. Currington is definitely unique. As his third album stated, he’s a little bit of everything and that’s what defines his laid back style.
