I’ve been waiting for this one to come on YouTube and now it’s here. I’m a few weeks late, but it was worth the wait. I’m sure you’ve already heard this new one. Kacey Musgraves almost came out of nowhere a few years ago with her big hit Merry Go Round. That song was so different, yet it made so much sense. Here’s another one that could be a classic.
Biscuits – Kacey Musgraves
I love, love the sentiment in this song. And Kacey has been building this brand with each of these songs and this one fits in perfectly. It’s about minding your own business in life and not sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong.
There is definitely an epidemic out there of getting too involved in telling people how they should live. It’s crazy and I’m probably guilty of it as much as anyway. And I guess I’m doing it right now, but it seems like we worry too much about what other people are doing.
As long as they’re not hurting anybody what difference does it make what people do? If it makes you uncomfortable that’s your problem. Deal with it. Don’t try to change people. Change yourself.
The songwriter on this one was great. It’s tongue-in-cheek and powerful at the same time. There is a mix of a few choice words (maybe?) and some fun words like the title word.
I hope this song will do well. I’m not sure if radio will accept it, but I sure hope so.
