It’s great to keep hearing new singles from Tracy Lawrence.
I missed this one. It’s been out for a couple months already and I feel bad for not seeing it sooner. Tracy is one of my all time favorite artists. He’s been around for more than 20 years now and he’s been making great music the entire time. Even today I think he put out one of his best albums ever and this was the most recent single.
Blacktop – Tracy Lawrence
Tracy has been country from the beginning of his career. With a voice like that you can’t really get past the traditional influence in his voice. And it’s really cool to hear that traditional influence mixed in with a few modern country sounds. On this track you get the modern rock sounds and a few of the pop sounds you hear on country today.
The song is a love song. I think it could be about a couple that’s been in love for a while or maybe it’s about a new couple. Either way, the guy just wants to go out and be proud of the woman he’s with. He feels good going around and making her feel like she’s the best thing in the world whether that’s with just the two of them or with the entire world around to see.
I’m glad that Tracy can still get out there and put out great music. He may not get played on the mainstream radio right now, but thankfully there are plenty of other ways to hear his new music.
