Jimmie Allen

About a long time relationship or about a breakup from long ago?

Heard this one on New Boots on Spotify and really liked it. A little Darius Rucker. A little Thomas Rhett. Kind of that easy listening country with a nice love story mixed in the lyrics. I like it.

The artist is Jimmy Allen. It looks like he’s been working at this music thing for a long time. It appears there has been some success as a songwriter, but he’s looking to breakout as an artist.

It looks like he’s on the Broken Bow team. That’s been one of the most successful labels in Nashville the last decade and if anybody can break a new artist they can. I’ll be pulling for Jimmie.

Blue Jean Baby – Jimmie Allen

It’s a love song. I think it’s a guy and girl that have been together. They’re taking a little time to reminisce about the old days. They’re thinking about those fun times they had. Innocent and young and in love. The whole deal.

I think when you’ve been with someone for awhile it’s easy to forget about those times. But when we do think back it makes us feel good. We probably didn’t have much going on at the time. No money. No possessions, but when you have someone you really care about it can feel like the best times of your life.

I’m really curious to see how this one does on the charts. It fits right in with what’s getting play at country radio. Jimmie has a great label behind him. I think it could crack the top 20.

Chart Estimate: #15

CML Points: 86/100
