I’ve been waiting for the first video from Alan Jackson off his latest bluegrass album.
There is a buzz around this record. Alan says he’s wanted to record a bluegrass album for years and now he was finally able to put it together. He hasn’t been getting much play on the radio lately, which is too bad and the chances of getting one of the new tracks on the radio was slim.
But you can still reach people through video and Alan has treated us to this one and another one. But you’ll have to come back tomorrow to see that one.
Blue Ridge Mountain Song – Alan Jackson
The lyrics have me thinking this song is about Alan and his wife. There seem to be a few details that cross over to other songs he’s written about their love and their life. It’s really sweet. Maybe it’s a little more broad than that, but I think it’s a neat story.
The cool thing about this entire album is that Album did quite a bit of writing. He didn’t have to go far to come up with bluegrass songs instead of country songs. There has always been a lot of cross over between the genres in terms of lyrics and even in the music. It’s about stories and sweet country melodies.
Throw in the right instruments and you have some really good music.
I think this is another great song from Alan Jackson. It’s sweet and it makes you smile. That’s a powerful song if you ask me.
What do you think?
