Mo Pitney is one of my favorite emerging country artists. He really brings back that traditional sound into country music. I heard an interview with Alan Jackson recently and he talked about how he likes that country has all different varieties and styles, but that the only thing he wishes there was, was a little more traditional.
I think Mo Pitney fits that bill.
Mo’s first single cracked the top 40. Now he’s ready for his second single. I hope Curb can break him into the mainstream.
Boy & A Girl Thing – Mo Pitney
It’s a fun song about how girls and boys kind of go through those changing times as they come of age. At first they grow up not really paying attention to one another. Then they reach that stage where they start to look at one another in new ways.
Then it can turn into a love story and before you know it they’re having little boys and girls of their own.
I don’t think we’ve had a country song like this in a while. We have in the past, but it’s been a while. I think of songs like Rebecca Lynn and Check Yes Or No. Those are obviously classics, but you never know if this one could join in there.
I think Mo has a unique sound, which is kind of weird. He’s bringing that traditional sound back. And he has some traditional country songs including this one that I think people will like.
What do you think?

So thrilled to know that the traditional Country Sound is alive & thriving with MoPitney…love everyone of his songs on his album…& can’t get enough of Borrowed Angel and Don’t you ever get tired of hurting me (his version)! His music answers the question “Who’s gonna fill their shoes” by George Jones!!!
MO Pitney, will be the next super star in the country music arena… He has that unique style & voice you don’t hear very often in country music today.
