This sounds like a mega hit.
I hadn’t realized that it had been a little while since Lee Brice had his own single out.
I guess that’s the way things go in the music world.
Artists need to keep the hits coming one after another to keep their momentum.
But it’s still fine to take some time away from the charts. People don’t necessarily want to be overloaded with music from one artist.
Anyway, Lee Brice is back with a song that already seems to be a hit.
Boy – Lee Brice
So this one is obviously from the perspective of a dad or a parent that’s having a boy. Or that’s kind of watching their young boy grow up.
Part of it is reflecting on the dad’s own life. See all the things he went through. The good and the bad. And thinking about how the boy will probably go through all those same things.
I think the dad sees that the boy will be his own person. But you can’t help taking on some of the traits of your parents. You spend so much time with them that it’s impossible for some of it to not wear off.
And that’s not a good or a bad thing. It’s just the way it is.
The song seems specific to dads and their songs. I’m sure that will connect with a lot of them out there. But I think it could also work for a mother and her son or sons. Or any parents and their children.
Lee looks to be taking a hit into his next album.
