It’s more twang and southern fried music from Brad Paisley.
For his second single off his 2011 album Brad Paisley is throwing things back to the band of his youth. Alabama serves as the soundtrack to Brad’s romance one evening as he takes his woman out for some loving in the southland. The guys from the band even join in at the end for a rousing duet that sees old country meeting new country.
Old Alabama is the name of the track. Brad sings about spending an evening with the woman of his dreams as the two listen to old Alabama songs from the ’80s. Those guys really made some of the best music in country history. I’m sure there were a few romances had during a few Alabama tracks. I can picture couples sitting around by the banks of the Southern creeks listening to Dixieland Delight or perhaps Feels So Right.
There are the classic licks from a few Alabama tracks in this song. At the beginning you’d even think Dixieland Delight was about ready to play, but it’s no let down when Brad kicks in with his classic twang guitar. He starts telling the story about the wonderful girl he’s spending the night with.
The best part of the track is when Randy kicks in at the end with his classic vocals. Alabama truly had an influence on multiple generations of country fans. I remember listening to them in the ’90s when they were still going strong. I’m sure in ten years from now Brad Paisley will have his own crop of country artists singing songs about him.
You can always count on Brad to serve up hit after hit and he doesn’t miss a beat with Old Alabama.
