No we’re talking.
Bradley Gaskin came right out the ’90s with his new song Mr. Bartender. It’s the classic tear in your beer song. After losing the love of his life the narrator needs a shot that will take the pain away.
Bradley Gaskin sounds like he’d fit right in with Travis Tritt and Mark Chesnutt. Back in the ’90s these two guys were selling millions of records and racking up hit after hit. I wouldn’t mind seeing a guy like Bradley Gaskin lead the way for a little ’90s sound revival. I loved the music back then and we’re at about the right time for another cycle of neo-traditional country.
Mr. Bartender doesn’t strike on any real new ground in country music. It’s the classic sounding mid-tempo song about a guy feeling down on life. He’s after a few drinks from the local bartender. When we get left by a woman or if we screw things up we often head for the local bar for some comfort. It’s not the best time to have a few drinks, but the company is usually good and forgetting about life for a bit is sometimes the right thing to do.
I’m really intrigued by Bradley Gaskin. If Mr. Bartender is just a hint at the kind of music this guy is going to release I’m really excited. I hope he catches on and takes the country world in a neo-traditional direction.
What do you think of Bradley and his new track?
