He’s on top of the country world right now.
I don’t know if Chris Stapleton will ever be an artist that has all kinds of number one hits.
He’s certainly had some hits. A top ten and a couple others that have reached around the twenty spot or so.
But there is no doubt that people love Chris’s music. Fans speak with their money by buying his album. And they buy it like crazy.
His first record has sold over 2 million copies and his latest is on the way there.
Here is what I think is the next official single. It’s another good one.
Broken Halos – Chris Stapleton
There is just so much soul in Chris’s performances. He seems to dig down deep to pull emotion from all kinds of places.
This one seems to come from a sad place.
Although I think it’s purposely vague so that people can fill in their own stories and situations. Maybe it’s about a lost lover. Someone that left or someone that’s passed.
Maybe it’s about family. Maybe it’s about friendship.
Or maybe it’s just a guy that’s kind of looking around at the other people in the world. And he’s seeing that all kinds of people have struggled in life. They were on the right track, but for some reason they couldn’t stay on that track.
Certainly we all make mistakes. It seems like we can come back from them and leave the past behind. But maybe not all of us can do that. Maybe there are plenty of people out there with broken halos.
