It’s hard to call 2012 a comeback year for Carrie Underwood, but in a way it kind of will be.
Carrie had a busy year in 2011. She got married. She topped the charts with Brad Paisley on the romantic Remind Me. And on top of all that she appeared numerous times at events and on TV. Oh, and I can’t forget her motion picture debut in the surprise hit of the year, Soul Surfer.
All of that doesn’t necessarily make for a year off from work, but considering the previous few years this was a little bit of a change of pace for Carrie.
Heading into 2012 there are many things to look forward to as a Carrie fan. She has new music ready for release and there are some other big plans. It’ll be good to be a Carrie Underwood fan in 2012.
Carrie Underwood in 2012
There was only one single from Carrie Underwood in 2011. That was a co-single with Brad Paisley. The song was huge. It was one of the biggest of the year and really continued to showcase the talents of both artists. It’s impressive when two of country’s biggest artists can get together and create something really special.
There appears to be new music from a new Carrie Underwood album in the works. And the release appears to be sooner rather than later heading into the new year.
New Music
Word on the street is that Carrie already has most of the recording done for her fourth studio album. It sounds like a new single will be chosen this week and after that we should hear something on radio early in 2012.
That’s exciting because it’s already been over a year since we heard an exclusive Carrie Underwood single on the radio. After taking some time off there will no doubt be great anticipation for this next single. Based on her previous singles I’m sure this upcoming music will be top notch. Carrie has rarely, if ever, missed when it comes to releasing great music.
It’s pretty crazy actually. Carrie has released 15 singles in her career and 12 of them have reached #1 with the other three reaching #2. To have 80% of your singles reach #1 on the charts after five years is pretty incredible and the fact that the others barely missed is even more impressive.
It’s exciting to think about the new music in 2012. I’m sure the first will for sure be a hit and there could easily be 1, 2 or even 3 more the rest of the year as well.
Carrie is in a good place to resume her career at the top of the charts. Anticipation is high for her new music in 2012.
Tour
There are a couple of tour dates on the schedule right now. It appears Carrie is hitting the big festivals in 2012. I’m sure the full plans will come out as the year turns around. Carrie is finishing her next album and I’m sure the full on tour will be announced shortly after. She’ll be hitting the road as a headliner once again. She’ll be all over promoting the new record.
The new music and the tour are sure to be some of the biggest stories in country music in 2012.
Awards and Legacy
It’s been over a year since I proclaimed that Carrie Underwood is the greatest of all time. I still feel this way. We’re talking about an artist that is still at the early part of her career, but I think she’s reaching heights never before seen by female artists.
You can name a bunch of stars from the past with the biggest star likely being Shania Twain or maybe Taylor Swift. I think Carrie is right there, though. She’s one of the best of all time and 2012 should further establish that fact.
There should be a few more awards on the way for Carrie with even the potential for another Entertainer of the Year award which would be huge.
The Carrie Underwood Legacy continues to roll in 2012 and Carries fans should be thrilled.
As a country music lover and a Carrie Underwood fan, I am looking forward to her forth CD. At least I have three CDs of hers. I sure hope her forth CD comes with a DVD.
