Have you ever looked back on a past relationship and realized you’re better off without the person?

That’s what Nothing At All from Casey Weston is about. Only after do you sometimes realize that someone contributed nothing to your life. You’ve moved on now and you’re thinking about all the wonderful things in your life and that person really did nothing to enhance anything.

Nothing At All – Casey Weston

This was a new voice for me at first. I did not recognize the name, Casey Weston when the song came across my desk. I listened to Nothing At All a few times through and really liked it.

Casey WestonThen, my girlfriend mentioned that she knew the voice. Casey was a contestant on The Voice and was one of Adam Levin’s picks. My girlfriend had loved the show and I had the chance to watch most of the episodes as well. I remembered Casey and realized she was starting to turn into a great country artist.

The song, Nothing At All, is about looking back on the person you were once with. You once thought they were everything to you. They were the person that made life exciting and you thought you were in love. Now you look back and realize that it was all a lie. You look at that person today and realize they contributed nothing to your life.

Sometimes we look at who we are now. We see all the great things we accomplish and we realize that some people in our past really had nothing to do with any of it. They were a waste and they may have even brought you down when you were trying to make things work.

It’s not healthy and when you look back on your life as a success you realize that this person contributed nothing at all to any of it.

I think this is a great song from a rising country star, Casey Weston.

What are your thoughts on Nothing At All?

I think it’s a mix of The Wreckers with a little bit of LeAnn Rimes. It’s great stuff.

Chart Estimate: #40

CML Points: 81/100
