It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Johnny Cash passed away.
Today is the anniversary of that day. It was sad in country music circles. It was amazing how Johnny had become as popular as he’d ever been toward the end of his life.
So many people in my generation were able to discover his music and many modern artists were able to pay their respects to a country legend.
Today, we have a new song from The G Brothers. This is their tribute to the Man In Black and it’s a good one.
Cash Is King – The G Brothers
The song gets off to a rolling start just like a classic Cash record. It has that feel and it’s pretty cool. You don’t really hear this style much anymore, but it’s a sound that people like so I’m sure this song has been a favorite wherever the brothers play.
This is a really great tribute. The lyrics are great. They manage to tell a story while still getting across the point that you have to earn things in life.
Nothing comes free. You can scam your way through life. You have to earn hard earned cash and do things that way.
It’s fun to look back once again at Johnny Cash and it’s another example of a new act out there that is working hard to make in the country business.
I think they’re doing a great job.
