You may have not heard of him yet, but here is your heads up. I can almost guarentee you’re going to want to add this man to your country music playlist.
Chase Rice is a singer-songwriter out of Nashville and has most recently scored his first GOLD single as a songwriter with his co-write on the chart-climbing “Cruise”, sang by his friends Brian Kelley, and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line. “Cruise” was wrote by the talented circle of friends: Chase Rice, brother Jesse Rice, FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, and FGL Producer Joey Moi.
Chase is a former football player for the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and former member of the NASCAR Hendrick Motorsports team. You may have also seen his face on a season of Survivor-Nicaragua where he lasted until the last episode, but fell short of one vote of a million-dollar pay day, but it was the death of Chase’s father that lead to him writing music and heading to Nashville.
Even though Chase Rice is the face for new artists in the country music industry, trading the cowboy hat for a Braves snap-back, he stays true to his country roots. He’s a mixture between Eric Church’s bad ass vibe to a Luke Bryan ladies’ man but with the tenderness of Jason Aldean. With his first full-length project, Dirt Road Communion, his lyrics are deep, real life, and straight-up country. Singing and writing about partying, trucks, heartbreak, Jack Daniels and Jesus, death, beer, and country girls in backwards hats. There’s no doubt that all of his songs from Dirt Road Communion have the potential of being a hit.
As “Cruise” continues to move up on the charts and has not only let Florida Georgia Line, but Chase Rice make a name for himself. It continues to receive recognition from artists like Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland. Chase is currently not signed under a label, but that won’t be lasting too long with how things are speeding up for him. Touring with artists like Brantley Gilbert, Love and Theft, Phil Vasaar, Jake Owen, Sara Evans, Lee Brice, and others. You’re going to want to watch out for Chase in 2013 and be sure to connect with him @ChaseRiceMusic and chaserice.com for tour dates in your area. His show is one you definitely don’t want to miss!
