Luke Bryan was clearly the biggest star when it came to the CML charts this year, with three #1’s, spending 17 total weeks at the top. Carrie Underwood, Lee Brice and Jason Aldean all had big years too, with two #1’s each. But who had the biggest song of the year?
Also, there were alot of newer acts who had big years. Dustin Lynch, Kip Moore and Florida Georgia Line all made their chart debuts this year with big hits and Hunter Hayes, Gloriana, Eric Church and Brantley Gilbert had breakthrough years. And let’s not forget Little Big Town, who after many years of close calls and near misses, finally hit #1.
With 2012 in the books, I can’t wait to see what the country music scene will look like in 2013. I hope y’all enjoy reading the charts every week. Happy New Year!
As always, the CML Chart combines radioplay, album sales, along with popularity (video countdowns, frequency in the news, etc.) and internet downloads.
