Will Hoge is back with a great new album.
Will Hoge had a new album out last month. I saw it pop up on the chart. I guess it sold pretty well for today’s standards. It was good to see his name back on the charts. It was a few years ago when he found success with Strong and I always thought he had a future in country music.
It looks like he’s still making music. He still has a great sound. I’m sure his fans are as faithful as ever. I thought we’d check out one of the popular songs; at least one of the popular ones on Spotify.
Cold Night In Santa Fe – Will Hoge
This has gotta be a sad song, right?
I’m still diving into the lyrics on this one. It seems like it’s a guy looking back on a time he had in Santa Fe with a woman that he loved. Or maybe just about someone he lost in a different way.
It sounds like one night things came to a head and broke apart. He’s wishing that it could have been different. That it could have gone different ways and that he could have done things a little different.
But that’s the thing about these songs. We don’t really change our ways all that often so some things are simply destined to end the way they will.
But part of me is thinking this song isn’t about that breakup. There might be something else going on. You’ll have to let me know your interpretation of things.
Anyway, great to have Will Hoge back with great new music.
