She sounds as good as ever.
Now this one takes me back. When I think of Christmas at my house growing up I think of all the great old country songs. And my mom always knew that I loved country music so she would buy country Christmas albums. I remember George Strait, Vince Gill and more.
Then as I got older I discovered even more great Christmas songs from great country singers. Some of the songs were classic, but I always kind of looked forward to the originals.
I’m pretty sure this one from Loretta Lynn is a new one.

I just can’t remember hearing this one anywhere before. You’ll have to let me know if it’s been out there already and that Loretta is just covering it. But I’ll go on for now thinking that Loretta is just bringing a great new holiday song to the world.
How cool is it that Loretta is still releasing great country music in 2016? She put out a new studio album earlier this year and then she came out with a full Christmas album this holiday season. And she sounds as wonderful as ever.
This song has that fun Christmas groove going on. It’s kind of hopping and popping along and you can just imagine a busy household with family and friends all over talking and eating and all those good things.
And all the images painted in the lyrics are wonderful. It’s country down to the details and it makes me smile. This is a really nice gift for the ears for the holiday season.
