Joe Diffie was the highlight for my girlfriend and I at Country Jam Day 2.
The country legend hit the stage at 5pm sharp. He brought his good ‘ol country boy charm and his distinctive voice. He romped through all his hits and included a few surprises along the way as well.
Overall, the fans seemed to love the show and stayed for the entire performance. We had to head out after the show because things were heating up temperature wise and a little sickness was going through our house.
I’m glad we got to see Joe Diffie, though. It was my first time seeing him and he didn’t disappoint.
Country Jam 2011 – Day 2
Day 2 started out with a little sickness in our house. We thought we could muscle through the entire evening, but the rough health combined with the 90+ degree heat made things a little too much. My girlfriend and I were able to make it to the Joe Diffie show and then went home to rest up for Day 3.
What we saw on Day 2 was great, though. Here’s the review.
Joe Diffie – Country Jam 2011
Joe came out ready to rock in Eau Claire. His first song was appropriately [easyazon-link asin=”B00136Q6Z8″]Third Rock From The Sun[/easyazon-link]. It’s always interesting to hear the whispers of the folks sitting around in the field. As soon as the first song came on you could hear people saying, “I know this song…” That remained the popular theme for the entire show.
Highlights of the performance included [easyazon-link asin=”B00136LYT6″]Pickup Man[/easyazon-link], Home, and [easyazon-link asin=”B00137V0CG”]Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die)[/easyazon-link]. Joe played a few ballads for the pretty girls in the crowd too as he showed off his romantic side with [easyazon-link asin=”B002TJOW4U”]So Help Me Girl[/easyazon-link]. It was a great performance and the only regret is my wish for more time since Joe wasn’t able to work in all of his hits including [easyazon-link asin=”B00137QUM6″]New Way (To Light Up An Old Flame)[/easyazon-link] and [easyazon-link asin=”B0000028SX”]Honky Tonk Attitude[/easyazon-link].
[easyazon-link asin=”B002TJL8BU”]John Deere Green[/easyazon-link] was a huge highlight of the show and so was the encore version of Bigger Than The Beatles.
It was a great night with a few surprises including Joe’s version of the Charlie Rich song [easyazon-link asin=”B00137Y99W”]Behind Closed Doors[/easyazon-link].
It was a great day at Jam lead by one of country’s biggest legends of the ’90s – Joe Diffie.
