Country Love Songs – Part 2

40) No Doubt About It – Neal McCoy

It took a number of singles and even two full length albums before legendary country entertainer Neal McCoy was able to breakthrough with a legitimate hit on the country charts. Most artists (and most labels) give up after so many failures but Neal continued on and in 1994 he struck gold with the number one hit No Doubt About It. The song is a slow romantic ballad where Neal tells the story of a guy that is head over heels in love with the woman of his dreams. The guy knows he and his girl were meant to be together…no doubt about it.

39) I Do – Paul Brandt

Canadian country singer Paul Brandt was just a young kid when he took a few singles to the top five on the country charts back in ’96. His highest charting single was the passionate love song I Do. The song has Brandt confessing his love for a woman and saying he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make their lives everything they’ve ever wanted. Brandt’s smooth voice and the song’s slow melody make it a classic sexy country love song. There is nothing like setting the mood with a good old fashioned country love song.

38) You’re Beginning To Get To Me – Clay Walker

Clay WalkerNothing was more catchy and wonderful than a Clay Walker song in the ’90s. The guy was able to churn out hit after hit during a 15 year or so run that continues still today. He can’t stop thinking about her and he wants to be with her all the time. Is there anything else a woman needs to hear from the man she loves?

37) Buy Me A Rose – Kenny Rogers

Kenny Rogers had a big career comeback in ’99 and ’00 with his #1 country single Buy Me A Rose. The song has a great romantic sound to it. The true meaning of Buy Me A Rose is to find the real reasons you love the person you’re with. Material things are great to have, but those are really worthless without a true love. It’s the little things that matter to women when it comes to romance. Buy your special someone a rose on your way home from work. Do the little things mentioned in this song that make you special in her eyes. Those are the things that show her you care.

There was something about the ’80s in country music that just made things get real sexy. To kick things off in 1980 Ronnie Milsap released the not-so-subtle song Why Don’t You Spend The Night. When things feel right they just feel right and you have to go with it. There is nothing more sexy than having a great evening with someone. There is dinner, conversation, perhaps a walk through the city and then back to your place for some more dessert and chit chat. Things can lead a little further and who knows. Perhaps she’ll spend the night and something can get started.

32) Help Me Hold On – Travis Tritt

A song about a close breakup is something that doesn’t seem to make sense at first. Travis Tritt changed that with his 1990 single Help Me Hold On. The song sees Travis begging his woman to stay with him. He admits he was wrong in whatever made the relationship fall apart but he’s saying he’s willing to continue the partnership as long as she’s willing to help him hold on. 31) When You Say Nothing At All – Keith Whitley

When You Say Nothing At All has become such an iconic country love song that it’s hard to believe the song actually came from a down day of songwriting by two of Nashville’s best. Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz were having a tough day of little creativity until they crafted the tune. They thought it was alright, but Keith Whitley knew a hit when he heard it. The song would go on to reach the top spot on the country charts for Whitley and the song became cemented as a heartfelt ballad and one of country’s biggest hits. The tune would later be covered by Alison Krauss. Her version would go on to become a major hit as well. The song is about being so much in love with someone that just being in their presence is moving. This is the perfect song to simply turn on, turn to your lover, look into their eyes and simply say nothing at all.
