Thomas threw us at CML a little curve ball. I was thinking that he had one more single coming from his last album.
But he must have stumbled on a great new song and had to record and release it right away.
That song is Craving You. It sounds like a smash hit. It sounds like another step in the evolution for Thomas. And it also has another rising star on the track to add a little more intrigue.

I didn’t catch it until about the 1:50 mark, but that’s where Maren Morris comes in with her cool style and voice.
The song is pretty rocking and bumping all the way up to that point, but then it goes to even another level with Maren. She’s on fire right now and her presence on the song is pretty cool.
Actually, both of these artists are on fire right now. That’s pretty unique in country music…to get two rising superstars on the same track. Especially when they’re on different labels.
The song is pretty straightforward with the lyrics. A love song. Comparisons to booze and other vices. All the traditional country images are there, but what makes this song really interesting is the sound.
It’s totally a new style country dance song. There is almost a little club sound in there. A little electronic with a little old style rock in there as well with the drums and guitars.
Thomas isn’t afraid to try new things and he’s finding some styles that work for him right now. It’s cool.
