This one’s a little different.
This is one that stands out. A lot of acts in country music are moving toward the progressive sound.
But I did hear Bobby Bones say on his podcast that he thinks country radio is going in a good direction. More like Top 40. Where there are about 4-5 lanes or so. Where you’ll get a few songs that are really pop. Some that are really country. Some with more R&B and Hip Hop influence. And so on.
I don’t know where this one would fit. The new one from Joe Stamm Band. But that’s the cool thing. It’s something that seems entirely new.
There are some elements from music from the past. I’ll have to listen to it for awhile more yet, but right now I’m intrigued.
Crow Creek – Joe Stamm Band
So the big story here for me is the sound. That dark, flowing sound. Hard guitars that kind of bring you down in the shallows.
And the theme is about water. Obviously it’s a creek in the title. Usually creeks are pretty slow moving and small bodies of water. They’re usually tucked back in the woods somewhere. Way out where you won’t be around other people. Just you alone with your thoughts and your choices.
I think that might be one of the parallels with this one. The choices we have to make. It could be a little about addiction or things like that. I don’t really know for sure. This is one of those songs that gets your attention with its sound and then you have to listen more to find your own meaning in the lyrics.

Incredible artist to say the least!! “Tenacity” will move him to the top charts one day!! Keep movin Joe!!
It is about addiction or the brown water in a bottle. See the Bottle. It is such a well written and composed song. The instrumentals and vocals do lead you into a dark place.
The song and many of Joes songs tell stories like older country/folk songs. Then his band has that midwestern rock sound brought about from the likes of Gary Richrath, Ted Nugent and others.
Well deserved to be on top of charts , songs written from the heart and a good o Midwest awesome attitude.. make sure to check out JSB other songs as well.. couple other favorites , other then Crow creek , I night stand , bombshell!!!!
