David Nail has had an interesting rise to the top ten on the country charts.
His hit single, Red Light, went all the way to #7 in 2009-2010. It was a long time coming for the slick singing Nail. He had earlier tried his hand at country music stardom in 2002 with his single release, Memphis. That song hung around the top 50 for a few weeks before failing to catch steam and Nail was later dropped by the label.
Now he’s back with the3rd single (I think it’ll be the 2nd hit), Turning Home, from I’m About to Come Alive
.
Interestingly, the song was co-written by country superstar Kenny Chesney. The song is a collaboration with Scooter Carusoe (Anything Buy Mine).
Chesney took his career to superstardom in the ’00s with his songs about the island lifestyle and memories of high school.
We’ll see if David Nail can tap into that nostalgia with his emotional take on the story of heading back home to remember a specific time in all of our lives.
