Dierks Bentley is one of the best country artists out there.
I’m not really sure what happened with the last single. It shot out of the gates, but now it’s apparently not going to be included on the album.
Instead, Dierks has another song that will serve as the first single off Riser and it’s a really good one.
I Hold On – Dierks Bentley
We all have things in life that are worth more to us than they ever would be to someone else. It’s called The Endowment Effect.
That’s what Dierks is singing about in this song.
I know there is a story out there about Dierks and his old pickup truck. He loves the thing and he’s not letting go of it. That’s probably where the inspiration came for this song in the first place. That truck has too many memories attached to it.
When we get attached to things it’s really hard to let go. It’s hard to find someone willing to pay the price for our memories and we end up just holding on to things.
There are many reasons to hang on to things. Sometimes we don’t want to forget someone or something like a moment in our lives that we wish we could relive just one more time.
I think this song is going to be a hit.
What do you think?
